Life and Legacy of Aaron Lemons Sr.
Aaron Martin Lemons Sr. was born May 15, 1965, to Sadie B Butler Reese and late Bill Martin in Chicago, IL. Brother Aaron’s journey of life concluded on January 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, compassion, courage, and faith.
Early Life
Brother Aaron graduated from Rogers High School, in 1981 in Michigan City Indiana and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps to serve his country. Aaron had a diverse range of careers, varying from Industrial, Peer Support, and Mentoring. Aaron was cherished by the staff of Keys to Hope and the NestCommunity Shelter, where he embraced and served the Homeless Shelter and the less fortunate.
Born with an adventurous spirit, bravery, courage and boundless energy, our belove Brother Aaron was recognized for his smooth dance moves, particularly his skill in stepping, and for his creativity as a sharp, stylish dresser. Bro. Aaron was known for gift of gab attached with a unique laugh that you will never forget.
Bro. Aaron found joy spending countless hours with his best friend Rodney Liggins (Pee Wee), you would find both in their sleek and sharp attire at the beach along the wall playing a game of chess and cruising in that white BMW. Pee Wee was not only Aaron’s best friend, but a brother to the end, that he loved dearly. Also, Aaron shared a special bond with Keith and Kevin Burks.
Aaron surrendered his life to Jesus Christ and began faithfully serving at Temple Worship Center under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Ronald Gaston. He was deeply passionate about sharing his faith and dedicated himself to guiding others toward a personal relationship with Christ. Aaron actively participated in church ministries, supported outreach programs, and was known for his willingness to mentor and encourage those seeking spiritual growth. His devotion was evident in his consistent service, compassionate interactions, and his unwavering commitment to leading others to the teachings and love of Jesus Christ
Brother Aaron loved his Pastor, where they spent time going to the games, out of town trips, but must of all hitting the streets and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Also, he loved and had a spiritual brother Brother Shay who often enjoyed sharing the Word of God with one another and with others.
Legacy- He is survived by his (3) children, who brought joy, laughter and love into his life,: Aaron Jr (Ashley) Lemons, Brandon Kyle (Breanne) Oliver Sr. and Leroy (Ashley) Jones.
Also, Aaron was a beloved, and protective brother to his sisters Betty Lemons, West Memphis Arkansas, Brenda Bolden (Nate Bolden), Michigan City, Indiana. Also, Brother Aaron’s siblings consisted of Arlene Lemons, Brenda (Larry) Mosley, Beverly (Keith) McClendon, West, Memphis Arkansas. Brothers: Roosevelt (Patricia) Lemons, Indianapolis, Indiana, Michael(Shaquita) Lemons and Willie (Patricia) Lemons, West Memphis, Arkansas.
The love of Aaron’s life was magnified by the joy, love and laughter that his grandchildren brought to his life. Brother Aaron cherished, (21) grandchildren. A special niece, Earlen (Poochie) Lemons, and a Special friend Tayell Leftridge
Aaron was proceeded in death by both parents, Sadie B Butler Reese, and Bill Martin, :siblings James A. Lemons, Joyce A.King, Wardell Lemons Jr., Joe W. Lemons, Doretha Lemons, Onetha Lemons, and Valeria Brown. Also, niece Mary Byrd, nephew Jerry Lark Lemons, Myron Jenkins, and Lewis Lemon Jr., and a granddaughter, Kaleiah Jones.
Brother Aaron will be missed abundantly, will be remembered by his laughter, kindness, sharp attire, sharp ride, praising the Lord and known in the ministry by shouting with great enthusiasm “Hallelujah”
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026 10am at Zion Hill MBC 123 Helen St. Michigan City, Indiana 46360. Viewing will be 9am until time of service at the Church with Pastor Ron Gaston to be Eulogist. Burial to follow at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
